Kids’ activities are held each Sunday during school terms. Children participate in the family worship service until after the minister’s regular children’s talk. They spend the rest of the service engaging in a wide variety of activities and craft, and interacting with Bible stories. These activities are overseen by our teachers, who are dedicated, innovative people – a steadying mix of youth and maturity.

Refugee Support

Our church community has a strong sense of social justice and a focus on supporting refugees. We have welcomed many Sudanese families into our community and helped them to settle in the Modbury area. We have offered practical support by assisting them with accommodation, clothing, furniture, employment and education.

Our International Community Group continues to support new arrivals and people from non-English speaking backgrounds

Bible Study

We have several different Bible Study groups within the Modbury congregation.

For more information about Bible Study groups, contact Gowan Armstrong on (08) 8263 8724.

International Community Group

Our award-winning International Community Group meets at the church weekly on Tuesday from 10.00am-12.30pm during school terms.

Through this group, we aim to provide:
•  A safe place for new (and not-so-new) arrivals to meet one another and local residents
•   English conversation, and reading and writing instruction for people from non-English speaking backgrounds
•  Instruction to assist people who are studying for the written driving test and/or citizenship test
•  Access to sewing machines and instruction on basic dressmaking
•  A creche for children to spend time in while their parents engage in the other activities

Community Breakfasts

We meet at the church for a community breakfast on the third Saturday of every month. All are welcome to attend and share in a hearty breakfast of cereal, eggs, bacon, sausages, toast and coffee. Breakfast is served at 7.30am and is followed by a short devotional time and input from a guest speaker.

The breakfast costs $5 per person. If you would like to join us at our next breakfast, please contact Barry Knowling on (08) 8265 0784 or Brian Dallow on (08) 8264 9264.
